A whale of a time!

'We had a great time and enjoyed exploring the islands' coastline. The snorkelling was memorable and the whales amazing - one surfaced about 50m off the stern of Out of the Blue! We saw five or six whales off Butterfly Bay, another when crossing between Solway Passage and Hamilton Island - a full side body roll! No cameras on deck to capture the moment as the sea was lumpy and winds gusting to 27 knots.'

'This was our fifth time chartering a yacht around the Whitsundays and our first time with Whitsunday Rent a Yacht. Our experience with WRAY was the best yet. Your team had a fantastic, positive attitude, provided us with fantastic customer service, yet gave us enough freedom to enjoy our holiday without being militant about making every single sched. The boat was near new and meticulously clean. Provisioning was all packed and ready for us to arrive and be sailing in no time. Well done guys – we will be back!'

Just do it!

'We had an unbelievably great time on our Whitsunday Islands sailing holiday. Kerrie and Peter had not dived for over two years and Alan and I have never snorkled before, it was amazing! Somehow we always ended up near the dive boats so we found some of the best spots too. Butterfly Bay was the best. We are keen to sail again and improve our new-found skills. Everyone we talk to is so jealous - I tell them JUST DO IT!'

Smooth sailing

The perfect holiday

'Everything 'just worked' beautifully, but that doesn't do the experience justice. We had chartered before in 2004. While the people may have changed the level of service and attention to detail was still spot on. Vanessa called the day before we were due to go out asking if we could make an 8am briefing - giving us an extra day on the water with a great sail over to Cid Harbour for the night. The briefing was excellent, laid back but thorough, with good tips on where to go and where to moor. The Surprise was a delight. Everything on board worked, was clean and well presented. Our English visitors called it their 'Hilton on the water with ever-changing views.' We took the standard provisioning option and were delighted with the choice and variety. We honestly cannot see why anyone would try and do it themselves. The return and debrief was particularly special for our youngest member, young Will, 13, who had grown so attached to his mask and snorkel that he asked if he could buy it. Brian directed him to the office where Vanessa made his trip by gifting it to him…. We saw whales on three separate days, close enough to almost touch on two occasions, dolphins, turtles, myriad fish and sunsets out of picture books. The perfect holiday. We'll be back.'

A magical holiday

'We have been boating enthusiasts for years and booked a seven-day sailing trip for my wife Lyn's 50th birthday. Some of our family have not done much open water sailing - we stressed what an adventure it would be even though we had only seen photos and heard storiies from other keen sailors! Then we boarded the L-atitude. Wow what a yacht - by far the best we have sailed in 20 years. Exceptional! By the end of the trip we had seven sailors on board hauling the mainsail up, tacking and flying across the choppy water. We will most definitely be returning to the Whitsundays. Seven days was not enough. Our adult children are keen scuba divers and a longer trip will give them more dive time. The fish life around Hook Island was spectacular. Thank you for such a magical holiday.'
