part of the preparation for
your trip. Running out of food,
forgetting basic ingredients,
or having to put up with unappetising

Charterers
have a number of options when
it comes to stocking their vessels
with food and beverages for
their holidays. You can bring
your stores with you or you
can spend part of your holiday
shopping at limited facilities
in Airlie Beach (10 klms from
our base) or Cannonvale (15kms
from our base).
If you arrive into the area
on the same day you are departing
for charter, you may not have
time to shop.
Alternatively,
we can arrange for your vessel
to be stocked with the type
of food and drink you require
- all on board ready for you
to cast off.

SCUBA Diving
Gear : The Whitsunday Islands boasts some
of Queenslands best SCUBA diving locations.
The area caters for experienced and
novice SCUBA divers alike. Excellent
visibility and warm water make it
a SCUBA divers paradise. Whether you
require SCUBA diving equipment, a
motor cruiser or sailboat rental trip
to the Great Barrier Reef or would
like to arrange your first SCUBA diving
experience we can arrange it for you

 CRUISE
GUIDES : All our charterers receive a comprehensive
area and boat briefing with a qualified
cruise guide, prior to charter. However
if you feel you need extra tuition
for a day or two or would prefer a
“skippered charter” where
our cruise guide accompanies you for
the full duration of your charter,
this can be arranged.
Our
cruise guides are professional and
friendly and can show you parts of
the Whitsunday Islands only we know.
So advise us if you'd like us to accompany
you on your motor cruiser or sailboat

to sail with WHITSUNDAY

Introduction to Bareboating - conducted
on your own charter vessel or a vessel
provided by the school. A one day
course that provides a basic overview
of sailing and general navigation
around the Whitsunday Islands and
includes sailing fundamentals such
as basic termonology, sailing theory
and sail handling, safety equipment
and procedures. Plus basic navigation,
radio schedule and dinghy handling.
Anchoring/mooring techniques and emergency
procedures. (This is not a certified
course)

 Sail Sorrento offers sailing courses
in a safe and fun environment. Learn
the art of sailing from Sorrento aboard
a new Bavaria 32. Sorrento is on the
Mornington Peninsula, one hour from
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.
Certificate Courses include intoductory
certificate, competent crew certificate,
Log Book and Recreational Boating
Handbook. Maximum 5 students per yacht.
Overnight accommodation is also available
on board for participants visiting
the Peninsula.

If you have never sailed before,
try our One Day, Fun Day introductory
course to make sure you will enjoy
it before you spend too much.

Suitable
for beginners.
1 day on board
Covers safety on board, steering,
basic knots, rigging the yacht,
wind direction and all points
of sailing, compass and basic
chart work, right of way rules.
Yachting
Australia Competent Crew Certificate
Suitable for everyone from beginners
to experienced sailors who are
interested in structured learning
to fill gaps in their knowledge.
Beginners will be in a position
to start building their own
experience.
2 days on board
This course will give you confidence
on the water, course includes
knowledge of all sea terms,
sail handling, rope work, fire
precautions, personal safety,
man overboard, flares, rules
of the road, meteorology, helmsmanship,
engines. Learn skills that will
enable you to join a race crew
or charter your own yacht any
where in the world.
Night Navigation
For Competent Crew graduates
and experienced sailors on the
third Friday every month. We
meet at Blairgowrie at sunset
and plan our trip with the course
materials provided. One hour
later we set off to round the
Hovell Pile, down the South
Channel to Queenscliff, Quarantine,
Portsea, Sorrento and back to
Blairgowrie. The round trip
takes about 7.5 hours. Participants
are welcome to sleep on board
after the course. |
Ladies
Courses
All the above courses are suitable
for ladies. Learn to sail without
getting yelled at, practise man
overboard so you can go back to
pick him up. Bring along your
friends for a girls weekend of
fun and enlightenment. |

DAMAGE
LEVY FEE
Non refundable
Damage Levy Fee provides the
charterer with a No Blame Policy
that protects the charterer
against any cost incurred to
rectify damage to the vessel
and its fittings or loss of
inventory from the vessel, providing
at all times the charter vessel
is operated in a safe and responsible
manner in accordance with the
charter agreement. The fee is
calculated at a rate according
to vessel size by the number
of nights ( to a maximum of
7 nights) the vessel is on charter.
Cost
28ft to 34ft -
$35 per boat per night
35ft to 38ft -
$40 per boat per night
39ft to 50ft -
$45 per boat per night

A Yacht reserves the right (without
showing cause ) to apply a $2000
bond to any charter . |
