 Hamilton Island
Hamilton Island is situated in the heart of the Whitsundays, a group of 74 tropical islands, only 12 of which are inhabited, situated in the Coral Sea between the Queensland coast and The Great Barrier Reef. Hamilton Island is the largest inhabited island in the Whitsundays and is the only island with an airport catering for direct commercial and charter flights. The island is serviced by approximately 40 flights a week by Virgin Blue and Jetstar including direct flights from Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Cairns with convenient connections to domestic and international ports. It is approximately a two-hour flight from Sydney, just over one hour from Brisbane.
