Reef and Whitehaven scenic flight (one hour)

This is the most comprehensive scenic flight on offer from Airlie Beach. Relax in absolute comfort as our seaplanes showcase the main group of Whitsunday Isles and the breathtaking Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.

During this 60-minute flight, you'll take in Shute Harbour, the Molle Group of islands, Daydream Island, the Whitsunday Passage, Hayman Island, Hook Island and Whitsunday Island, Whitehaven Beach and the amazing swirling sands of Hill Inlet. Soaring across the Coral Sea, you'll see Bait Reef, home of the beautiful coral stepping stones that rise out of the azure waters.

Reef Adventure tour (three hours)

Departing daily, our seaplanes showcase the amazing expanse of the Great Barrier Reef by air before landing and transferring to our private 'semi-submersible' at Hardy Reef to experience its beauty from below sea level. Enjoy two hours of coral viewing and snorkelling from the comfort of our glass-bottom boat moored inside confined waters. The vessel also has an underwater viewing chamber.

Great Barrier Reef by fast catamaran

A day trip to the Great Barrier Reef by fast catamaran is one of the most economical and comfortable ways to explore the wonders that lie beneath the tranquil blue waters. Trips can be arranged from Shute Harbour or Hamilton Island.
 
Fast catamarans have fully equipped underwater viewing pontoons, and snorkelling in a fully patrolled area along with coral sub rides are just some of the activities available to holiday-makers. All meals are provided on day-trips and during holiday periods early booking is essential through our reception.

Fishing trips

The Queensland coast is a mecca for fishermen and fishing in the Whitsundays and hiring of fishing charters is one of the most popular activities on the Great Barrier Reef. Coral trout, sweetlip, Spanish mackerel, red emperor and cod are just some of the prize catches on offer.

We can book you a trip with a commercial operator, or you can charter a Whitsunday Rent A Yacht vessel and we can help you organise fishing equipment through local suppliers so you can experience some of the best fishing spots in Australia. Even if you've never caught a fish before, you're unlikely to go home empty handed!

Airlie Beach activities

There's plenty to do for all ages in Airlie Beach. For the kids, look no further than the Airlie Beach Lagoon. Located right in the heart of Airlie, it's perfect for the whole family with plenty of shade, a playground for young children and water sport opportunities from the adjacent beach.

Also in Airlie Beach are boardwalks through attractive parklands to stroll and two beautiful marinas (Abel Point Marina and Shute Harbour - home to Whitsunday Rent A Yacht). Although the beach is small, it's tree-lined so you can take in the beauty and stay cool. In the evenings, the main street of Airlie comes alive with superb restaurants and a pub and club scene that buzzes 'til late.
