5 anchorages under two hours from Shute Harbour

Compared to Airlie Beach, Shute Harbour is hours closer to the Islands; this is a huge bonus when planning your return trip.

Here’s why Shute Harbour's proximity to the islands is a huge bonus...

The location of a charter company's mainland base can have a big impact on travel time to the islands and planning your return journey.

All bareboat hires in the Whitsundays need to be returned in the morning before 10 am. Charterers should plan to anchor close to the mainland for their last night to meet the return deadline.

If you’re heading back to Airlie Beach, you can anchor around Whitsunday Island or Hook Island. Both of these islands have overnight anchorages within 3-4 hours travel time to Airlie. However, if the weather forecast isn't in your favour or you're not an early riser, you may need to spend your last night at the marina to ensure you're back in time.

When returning your boat to Shute Harbour, you can choose from several anchorages under two hours away; Meaning you can relax and your holiday won’t be cut short.
