Boathaven Beach
A feature of the Port of Airlie Marina at Airlie Beach, Boathaven Beach is on the peninsula known as The Beacons and has some 60,000 cubic metres of soft white sand.
The man-made beach was designed to remain sandy in all tides, offering perfect year ’round swimming conditions. It’s a delightful spot to swim and sunbathe while enjoying views out to the Coral Sea and Whitsunday Islands. It also has a grassed parkland area – ideal for picnicking. When it’s time to shop or dine, the adjacent marina features restaurant, cafes and shops.

Enveloped by a natural amphitheatre, surrounding flora and fauna is diverse. Birdlife is abundant, while in the water you’re likely to spot freshwater turtles and fish. There are several bushwalking tracks up and around the Falls, so you can find a secluded spot and enjoy a relaxing afternoon surrounded by nature.
Conway Beach
Conway Beach is at the mouth of Proserpine River and is a renowned spot for fishing and crabbing. You’ll catch barramundi from February to October; along with king and blue salmon, flathead, bream, prawns and mudcrabs.
Its southerly aspect makes Conway Beach a great place for kite-flying and the township hosts an annual kite-flying competition. With picnic areas, a long stretch of sandy beach, caravan park and access to the fantastic fishing opportunities of Proserpine River, this is a great place for all the family.
Dingo Beach
It’s a scenic 30 minutes’ drive from Airlie Beach through the Whitsunday hinterland to the laid-back coastal settlement of Dingo Beach.
Facilities include an excellent boat ramp, swimming enclosure, picnic and barbecue areas and children’s playground. The Dingo Beach Hotel is a great place to sample fresh-caught seafood, and on Sunday afternoons it’s buzzing with live music. Dugongs feed off the fringing reef just off the mainland.
Hydeaway Bay
A spot of beach fishing, overnight camping or a leisurely stroll along pristine coastline?
