Fishing

Keen to fish while chartering with us?

If you need gear, contact our local supplier, Airlie Bait & Tackle, who has a range of fishing equipment for purchase or hire.

Tell them your arrival and departure dates and that you’re chartering with Whitsunday Rent A Yacht. They can deliver tackle to our base in time for your charter.

Book a seafood platter

Start your charter off in style by arranging a seafood platter to be delivered to your vessel before you set sail.

Seafood platters can be ordered along with any holiday provisioning and beverages through local provision companies Whitsunday Provisioning . Fishi will also deliver fresh seafood to your boat.

things to do in the Whitsundays Kayaking

Kayaking & Stand up paddleboards

We highly recommend hiring a kayak or SUP for your bareboat charter. They are a fantastic, simple way to explore the coastline and coves plus they are a great vessel for fishing in “hard to get to places”.

Stand up paddleboards and kayaks can be hired for the duration of your charter. Order with our reservations team in advance for equipment to be loaded on to your vessel before you arrive. Fees apply.

Add a Sleep Aboard

Stay on your boat the night before your booking at our Shute Harbour jetty.

Booking a sleep aboard is a fantastic addition to your holiday. It means you can check in the day before you set sail, giving you time to get acquainted with your boat and take care of any last-minute shopping etc. The best part about sleeping aboard with us is spending the night at stunning Shute Harbour.

Sleep Aboard’s are subject to availability and an additional fee.

Snorkelling & scuba diving

Masks, snorkels & fins are free of charge (included in your vessel hire fee)

Stinger suits and 1mm wet suits are available for hire through us. We recommend you hire these items, especially for UV protection. You’re also welcome to bring your own equipment and in-the-water / sun protection gear.

If you’d prefer to hire your own scuba diving equipment, Aqua Dive at Coral Sea Marina has everything you need. You must collect equipment in person and show your diving certification to Aqua Dive.

Deliver your boat to Hamilton Island

It’s possible to start or end your charter on Hamilton Island – subject to availability and additional fees.

Fly into the Hamilton Island Airport and organise for your vessel with any provisioning to be delivered to the Hamilton Island Marina. One of our briefers will accompany the boat for your briefing at Hamo.

If you wish to continue your holiday on Hamilton Island, you can also return your boat to Hamilton Island.

Great Barrier Reef Full Day Adventure

A day trip with Cruise Whitsundays is a comfortable way to explore the Great Barrier Reef.

Trips leave from Port of Airlie, Daydream Island or Hamilton Island. The cats provide access to a custom-built pontoon equipped with underwater viewing pontoons. Patrolled snorkelling and coral sub rides are just some of the activities available. All meals are provided.

Ngaro Indigenous Cultural Tours

Learn from a local Ngaro guide about the history of these ancient seafaring people, their customs and how they hunted and sourced “bush tucker”.

On the Ngaro Cultural tours, you will visit the Ngaro artwork cave, be guided through some of the most pristine landscapes in the Whitsundays and even learn to throw a spear.
