Practically speaking, it’s also possible to stop in at the marina if you’re on an extended charter and you need to refuel, get supplies, do laundry and access the internet.
The marina offers an option to stay the night while sleeping on your vessel or if you only want to stock up, you can pull in for an hourly rate and then head off to a different anchorage amongst the islands. We explain the logistics below.

How to stay at the Hamilton Island Marina on a bareboat charter
Booking a berth is required before arriving at the marina. Book ahead through the reservations team at Whitsunday Rent a Yacht or ask our team in the radio Scheds to book a berth for you.
When you arrive, you will need to radio in and follow the directions given. The on-water marina concierge staff will guide you to your allocated berth and assist with lines at the dock. The marina staff will fill you in on the resort and the facilities you’ll have access to, such as the pools, showers and laundry.
For overnight berths, check-in is 11.00 am onwards on the arrival date and check-out before 11.00 am on the departure date. Early check-in or late check-out is subject to availability, and additional hourly charges apply.
Casual berthing is also available on an hourly rate; a great option if you want to shop for supplies, fill your water and dispose of waste then head off to your next night’s anchorage.
If you are visiting Hamilton Island over school holidays and Hamilton Island Race Week, please book well ahead of time.

Catamarans: $220 per night
Monohulls: $165 per night
Day Visits:
Catamarans: $115 for up to 3 hours (then $37 per additional hour)
Monohulls: $100 for up to 3 hours (then $32 per additional hour)

Beginning your bareboat charter from the Hamilton Island Marina
Hamilton Island Airport takes direct flights from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Cairns, operated by Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Qantas.
Whitsunday Rent a Yacht offers a delivery service, bringing your charter vessel to the Hamilton Island Marina so you can start your bareboat charter from there – subject to availability & additional fees.
The marina is walking distance from the airport terminal, so accessing your boat is convenient. There is also an island transfer service if you prefer not to walk with your luggage.

Starting a sailing holiday around the Whitsundays from Hamilton Island is an exciting option for charters. You can extend your holiday to enjoy the island before or after your sailing holiday, you’ll save on travel time to the mainland, and your whole holiday will be entirely based in the Islands.
To make things run even more smoothly, consider contacting one of Whitsunday’s provisioning companies to deliver meals and supplies to your boat. Alternatively, there is an IGA and essential shops at Hamo.

To get around the Hamilton Island resort, hire a golf buggy and cruise the road which loops the island, or utilise the free shuttle bus.

- Swim in the pools
- Take the kids to hug a koala at the Hamilton Island Wildlife Park
