     Power and Inverters

All Whitsunday Rent a Yacht boats have 240v inverters as standard equipment.

An inverter basically takes power from the 12 volt battery power source and converts it to 240 volt (1 AU plug).

The inverters on our boats can run small device/s such as camera or phone chargers, however, they are not intended to power blenders, coffee machines or hair dryers.  Some vessels have larger capacity inverters built in (please see the individual vessel pages).

    Entertainment

All vessels come with a stereo system.   Note that internet access is limited around the islands so prepare your music to be offline.

Some of our vessels come with televisions including USB and HDMI ports.  Most people enjoy a holiday without screens, but if you want to watch a movie at night or give the kids some down time then bring a USB stick or drive with movies ready to go.  (regular TV reception is not available).

    Air Conditioning

Many of our vessels come with air-conditioning units which all work when at the marinas.  Some boats come with  generators so that air conditioners can be used while at sea. The disadvantage of running an aircon through a generator is the noise, many people think it’s simply not worth it.

Airconditioning is not essential when living a life at sea. All vessels have air hatches which can be opened. Catamarans often have more airflow thanks to the open living spaces and larger above deck doors.

If you wish to sail in summer with the option of  air conditioning while on the water, please talk to our sales team when making your booking enquiries.  Please note that vessel air conditioning is not as simple as home based systems, they can only be run when the vessel is stationary and not all day long.

What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring personal items such as clothing, food and beverages. If you wish to do additional activities such as fishing or kayaking, we can help organise equipment when making your booking or you can bring your own.

Learn more about activities and equipment hire here

We’ve put together a guide packing list here

It’s also possible to organise provisioning for your charter, so you don’t need to run around at the shops getting personal supplies before you check in. There are several provisioning companies in the Whitsundays who will deliver right to your boat.
